Trusts - General

Broadly speaking, trusts are a legal entity, usually created by an individual (the Settlor), with a remit to hold and manage capital assets until it is appropriate to distribute the assets to nominated individuals (the Beneficiaries).  Assets are placed in the hands of Trustees, who are responsible for the proper management of the assets and their distribution.

Proper use of trusts can be very effective in dealing with a potential inheritance tax liability.  There is a variety of trust arrangements which may suit different circumstances.

We can advise on the use of such trusts, and investments within them. We often work in collaboration with solicitors to ensure all arrangements are suitable.

Advice will only be given after a thorough discussion of your situation and requirements.
