Tony Yarrow

Tony Yarrow, a Cambridge graduate founded Wise Investment in 1992 to provide investment advice and fund management to private clients. He started managing funds in 1988 and ran the successful Wise Investment Clients' Fund from inception in 1992 until the fund was subsumed by TB Wise Investment at its launch in 2004. Tony currently manages TB Wise Investment and TB Wise Income.

Tony runs his funds with a clear idea of the potential of each investment in his portfolio, and a target price, which is kept continually under review. Tony also conducts a weekly in-depth analysis of market trends. He believes it is important to get to know the managers of the funds we invest in personally, so as to understand how their outstanding performance is achieved. Over time, this approach has been consistently successful.

David Stephenson

David is a former Merchant Navy Navigating Officer who has been a financial advisor since 1986 and has been involved in fund management since then. He has managed the successful Ager Life and Pension Funds which have a successful track record of over 24 years.  The Ager Financial Managed Fund is the top performing life managed fund since its launch on 29th May 1985. Source Lipper (01/06/2010).

David pays particular attention to historic patterns and sentiment to try to develop an understanding of likely future market movements.  He keeps in touch daily with market activity through media and fund manager links.  He is not constrained by the asset allocation restrictions of major groups and if an asset looks unattractive he will not hold it.

David’s portfolios have a relatively low turnover level, he is prepared to be patient but will act swiftly if there is a major fundamental economic or political change.  He also keeps in close contact with fund management groups and has regular meetings with managers.  Whilst asset allocation is the prime consideration individual fund performance is closely monitored.  A short period of underperformance is not taken as an immediate reason to sell and the reasons are investigated.

Often it is just a short term phenomenon and out performance will follow, however on other occasions a concern will arise and the fund sold.

David manages TB Wise Active Growth.
